When Major League Baseball's television network premiers in 2009, they will broadcast 26 games which will likely be shown nationwide on Saturday nights. The selection process has yet to be determined, and games will not be blacked out in a team's home market. Baseball owns two-thirds of the network while Cox, Time Warner, Comcast, and DirecTV own the rest. Initially, the league reached a $700 million deal with DirecTV for out-of-market packages, but baseball reached agreements with cable companies to give them a stake in the channel.
