Almost a 7 percent quarterly profit rise for EchoStar is said by the company to be due to subscriber growth at its Dish Network satellite TV service. Revenue for the quarter rose from $2.30 billion to $2.64 billion, and analysts expect a profit of 44 cents a share on revenue of that $2.64 billion. EchoStar says it added 310,000 net new subscribers, ending the period with a total of 13.4 million, up from 12.3 million one year earlier. The success of EchoStar is said by the company to be due to increased advertising as well as its high-definition and seasonal programming.
