AT&T has stated that by year's end, they will decide whether they will keep EchoStar's DISH Network or DirecTV as its satellite-TV provider. AT&T will select which of the providers they will go with before their contracts expire in early 2008. AT&T packages satellite-TV plans with phone service and internet packages. They compete with cable companies such as Cox Communications. DirecTV also sells its service through the second-largest phone company, Verizon, as well as the fourth-largest, Qwest Communications. |
