The biggest problem with WiFi is that half the time it just doesn't work; the signal gets dropped, you lose your connection, etc.

Well, it would never have occurred to me that I could "boost" my wifi signal and reception by using an old DIRECTV satellite dish. But believe it or not, it works. And it's pretty powerful, too.

Doramius over at ConvoPit.org has put together a video describing how it's done.

In his video, Doramius mentions another simpler solution offered by TechAnvil. So, for those of you who don't happen to have a spare satellite dish just lying around, here's the TechAnvil video that demonstrates how to create a wifi booster from aluminum foil and a piece of cardboard. Crazy stuff! Oh, and here's the parabolic printout he uses.
